Today I dry fired a DW and TTT

Today I examined and dry fired the Dan Wesson PM7 and the Sig TTT - both 1911s.

WOW. Both are really impressive; trigger, fit/finish, sights, either would be awesome. The Sig was $949 and the DW $1545. Don't know how they fired but for a $600 difference, that Sig with the Trijicon sights was absolutely amazing for $949.

Fellow at the counter said it matched up with his $1800 SA 1911 in every way. Now what?? I'm only $942.37 short!!

IMO, Sig really hit the mark with their line of 1911s, I'm quite impressed with them. I really love the reverse two-tone of the TTT and almost went with one before I settled on the RCS.

I have sig stainless target. Good gun for the money. DW is better, better resale too. just depends on your budget. Cant go wrong with either.

+1. They really did. There my favorite pistol and when I heard they went with a 1911 line I just about said wow....there going to be crap. Absolutely high quality 1911 for 1100/1000 or less. You get alot of bang for your buck and a light rail (on alot of models).

Good choice OP, its a good quality 1911.

But even Dan Wessons are quality, wouldnt mind owning one. I just cant spend more than say 1200 on a pistol, it'd get me a high end Sig/HK and a decent 1911.

              MIM part content?

Sigs are made with MIM parts. Dan Wessons are not.

Why does that matter? MIM seems to be the highest parroted "concern" posted about the 1911.

                      It doesn't matter.

There will always be people skeptical of MIM parts because they read somewhere on the Internet about a MIM part undergoing spontaneous combustion from being looked at the wrong way. If they are willing to spend $1500+ for a 100% MIM free 1911 for the added peace of mind, then more power to them.

I picked up a brand new 2011 DW PM7 for $1,050 about 6 months ago. It is an absolutely amazing pistol and an even better shooter. $1,545 is too much though! Look around for a better price.

I've just got the TTT, it's the third 1911 I've had and I personally think it's a touch nicer than the Kimber eclipse II and a lot better than the SA loaded 1911.

That external extractor on the Sig doesn't bother you? I'm all about performance and personality but looks are important too - I mean you have to look at her everyday and night.

I have a PM7 and it's the gem of out of all my 1911's.

Sig makes a wonderful 1911, I highly doubt you would be able to tell a $600 difference between the two.
