I was lucky enough to receive a set of 1911 grips to review for Strike Industries. They were the flag patterned extreme slim semi-gloss Model PX-10.
First thoughts when I opened the envelope was that the flag pattern looks great. I am not a fan of flashy accessories so these look perfect. When I looked closer I did have a worry that they would be slippery due to the polymer material.
I was wrong. The flag pattern besides looking good, makes for a very positive feeling grip. The polymer itself is not to slippery and I was pleasantly surprised to find how good they felt in my hand.
The fit and finishing is perfect. There were no sharp edges, no tool marks and no flaws. When I put them on my Springfield Operator they seated flush with the grip all the way around. No space for dirt / sand / lint or other junk to make its way under them.
They have a channel in them leading up to the magazine release that I was an instant fan of. The stock Pachmayer grips are lacking this channel. The channel is deep and long enough to give you positive feed back as to where the mag release is without needing to look down. Great for no look, and fast reloads. I wish I had had this feature before.
All in all a great grip, they will be staying on my 1911 for good.
