Do you own another firearm in the same caliber?

SA revolvers are a pain in the arse.

Got rid of mine for that very reason...

I would keep the 45lc, just because I like the look of the shorter barrel.

I'm a big fan of both calibers, but I like that cheap 45lc is very light loads that are fun at the range, even for beginners. BUT, you can also buy 45lc +p thats right up there with the hot 44mag loads.

You can get 45lc as weak as 300 ft-lbs, and as hot as 1200 ft-lbs. Range use, and hiking defense.

If it is for hiking, a 5.5" Vaquero will pack a whole lot easier than a 7.5" Redhawk.

That's a tough call. If I had to make that choice right now, I'd probably keep the 44 and sell the 45. The 44 is a more flexible cartridge IMO and the DA revolver is the more useful platform.

Nevertheless, if it were me either choice would give cause for regret some time in the future.

What other revolvers do you have? They are both great guns, a da revolver is more pratice. Both are great and versatile rounds.

                      Tough choice.

You will regret it either way, but if I had to do it, I'd dump the .45. The .44 is SO very versatile, as you probably know since you reload. It will do everything the .45 will and a lot more.

Its more for consolidation of calibers and I have acces to other 44mags if need be.
