Finally DROS'd the P226 today. It looked like it was in great shape. No smilies on the barrel and the frame rails looked excellent. Now the wait begins...

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help and advice.

If/as/when you get the SRT done, I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Enjoy and welcome to the club!

TOTALLY. Had it done to my P226 Navy. I had it installed after sending it back to SIG for its 5K round service. The stock trigger is fine-- but the SRT makes the gun much more responsive for rapid fire/folo-on shots. Also, if your gun didn't come with them- I'd recommend getting a good set of night sights.

+1, its so much easier than doing it yourself, factory is sighted and is a plus. Bring a punch simply because you may end up having a different shooting style or may shoot it farther than they sight them in at.

Mecgars sight has them, only certain finishes though. It almost looks like Mecgar is stopping them all together. Thank god I have like 3-4 of those and some OEM 10's. I wonder what spring I'll have to use if they ever crap out. Honestly if you see them on Mecgar's website, you only end up paying 5-8 bucks more atleast.

You'll like the SRT if you got it.

If n/a means not available, don't bother visiting http://www.mec-gar.com/Magazines/Sig-Sauer/MGP22610

Found the Mec-Gar mags on gregcotellc.com per the advice from the guys on the sig forum. They only had the nickel plated ones in stock so I bought a couple of those.

The guys at the range will simply assume that your stainless steel P226 is a safe queen.

Yea really. Like I'd go out and spend 80-100 plus bucks on a device that I can do with a soft mallet and a punch covered in a sock or other soft material. Men use punches . In fact, even on my p226 W. German I found my last set of trijicons I installed myself that way were a tad more accurate than the sig factory ones installed when I did the package. But if you have no clue how to OP, def use a tool. I doubt you'll need it though.

The nickel are fine, even mecgar had those on there site. 5 buck difference, never heard of that site before though, the "gregcotellc.com" one.
