So, my first pistol was a Sig pro 2022 in 9mm. Great gun, never failed me once, and has a nice trigger pull. The only problem I have with it is that its not comfortable in my hands. My hands are small, hell I'm small, and even with the smallest back strap on the Sig, it still felt big. Well went to the gun show, checked out the Springfield XD in 9mm. Let me tell you its night and day when I have the XD in my hands. Much more comfortable. I am waiting the 10 days till I get it then it will be my first time shooting it. So, Sig Pro 2022 is a good gun, just was not comfortable for me.

I now have 2 XD9s. Std and Tactical both in OD Green. I've become an OD junkie

Did you consider getting an XDm with the interchangable grip panels?Member: Patron member NRA, lifetime member SAF, CRPAOriginally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Comment

Congrats on your purchase. XD9 is a great gun. I have never had issues with mine, its been nothing but reliable. Try putting a hogue rubber sleeve on the grip its so comfortable. I just purchased the sig 2022 as well and so far im loving it.Comment

yes sir, I already own a 1911. Thats what I shoot most of the time because its comfortable. Thats why my Sig didn't get as much love, hahaha. I'm selling my Sig to my father in law, so he can appreciate it better than I.Comment

Turners had the 2022 and the xd9 on sale for the same price and I initially went looking at the sig and then held the xd9 and I agree with you. For me, the P series from Sig have always felt bulky in my hand, where as the xd feels much more comfortable.
The plastic on the xd can get a bit slippery with sweaty hands so I got grip stickers and it feels really secure in the hands now.Comment

XD9 is a awesome pistol!...My friend has one and i was tempted to buy one but since me and him shoot with eachother all the time i ended up getting a Glock17 which none of us had...I thought the Glock 17 would be big in my hands but it wasn't it fit like a glove...I'm only 5"5 with normal size hands or small hands but it fit fine...Go with what feels comfortable with your hands...I originally wanted a Glock 19 and Sig 229 but the sig 229 felt a little to big and the Glock 19 felt ok but the 17 felt better...I didn't want the 17 till i put it in my hands...You should try out the FNP 9 also great gun and fits like a glove...Comment

Got a chance to fire the XD9 a few months ago and loved it. Was going to get one until I came across the Beretta Px4. Liked the DA/SA and the thumb safty with a de-cocker. Getting out to the range for the first time with it today.sigpic
