TRP operator from springfield custom shop is back

Just got this back from springfield. Harrison rear night sights installed and an Infinity flat medium trigger. They do great work. What do you guys think?

Looks good! But why go back to SA for a trigger & rear sight?

Because I've seen their work and shot some pistols that had custom work from them. I just dont really trust local gunsmiths without a reputation. I've heard of some hack-jobs even with a simple sight change.

edit: Also because it was only a 2 week turnaround...

Nice. The SA custom shop really does some outstanding work and with a good turn around like you said. The red trigger is definately unique. Not something I would do, but then again I like plain jain 1911s lol

Where you did you get that 1911 take down mat? I want one!

You can get the take down mat at the Ontario gun show which is this weekend I think. Mine was $9 IIRC.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I like it. Been thinking of getting another 1911 and a full rail TRP is on the top of the list. Nice Trigger (but not red). It's nice that they turn around so quickly. Finding a good smith is challenging. And unfortunately my favorite retired. And he also was fast (less than 2 weeks) but making a 6+ month out appt. to drop off gun stunk.

Definitely unique with that red trigger....

2 weeks? That would have taken you 10 minutes. Did they do anything to the trigger or just install it? Baffling.

+1 on flat triggers, that red looks great.

Small rant, I bought a red base Infinity trigger from Brownells, it looked more dark pink not even close to your red.
Returned it for a silver base, cost me another $5.85 in shipping, so now I have boring sliver base with black long flat trigger.

Are you familiar with 1911 trigger install? It's not something a garage gunsmith should do. If not done right, it can be very dangerous. I don't have the skill for that or the sights. And yes they installed and tuned the trigger. It also had to be fitted so there's a little more work than plug and play.

The sight looks great.... The trigger is not my speed.
You should of had them do some extras while it was there... Not that you can really do that much more to it..

did they have to cut some of the rear frame to install the rear sights? and how are the rear sights?

Get a red magwell and switch the front sight to red and it'll look awesome.
