About $2600 + tax new, if you can wait it out.
Otherwise you will pay a $500-$800 dollar premium for someone that did wait it out.
You can typically find a used non-railed pro for $2500+ or -$ and a railed pro for $2700+ or -$.

How well does it compare to wilson combat or les baer?

It must be nice to shoot one these pistols and have several rounds punch through the same hole

I've been asking around and the most common answer is about a year.

Are they so great that another fancy pants brand won't do?

ie; you can wait it out, or get a different equally awesome 1911 sooner, right?

IMHO the other top brands are on the same level with it, but the hype being adopted by FBI & went thru the torture test is what this gun all about and make it harder to find.

I've owned 2 (sold one & still have one) & totally love this piece, they both slightly used when I got them. The 2nd one that I still have looks almost new with less than 100 rds thru the barrel.

About prices, you need to be patient & need to find a great deal. My 1st one cost me only $1,975 including DROS, but the 2nd one cost me almost $3K just because I need to have it & I do whatever I could to make it happen.
I also know someone that got his Pro Operator for $1,525 few years ago, so again, patient & keep looking are the keys

                            Should this read PC9111LR?
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"
