looking for .22 for the range

I was tempted to get walther p22 this week but have seen so many negative reviews about it jamming etc. I have leaned more towards browning buckmark. any thoughts on either?

If you like the Walther 22 then might be a Ruger sr22 pistol kind of guy. Great reviews from what I have seen, will eat any type of ammo. I have 5 more days before mine gets out of jail.

It really depends on what you want it for. For accurate target shooting I would recommend Ruger Mark II or III or the buckmark. If you just want a cheap plinker that isn't ammo picky I recommend the Ruger SR22. I don't own a P22 but I hear they can be ammo picky FWIW.

The Ruger Mk III and the Browning buckmark are two great .22 pistols and you can't go wrong with either one.
They are both full size pistols on the heavier side and they have quite a few aftermarket accessories available, especialy for the mk III

If you want something smaller and lighter like the p22 look into the Ruger SR22 which is recieving a lot of praise.

If you like 1911s the Ruger Mk III 22/45 mimics the grip angle of a 1911. The GSG 1911 is dedicated .22 1911 pistol that can utilize actual 1911 parts. Between these two, the 22/45 is built sturdier, but I have heard many good things about the GSG.

the ruger sr22 does look pretty cool. The 22 im looking for is strictly a fun gun for the range. I dont mind heavy guns. i own a 92fs and love it. I was looking to buy another gun from bass pro (not sure they carry sr22) since my local gun shop is way over priced. Can you believe they charge 449.00 for sigmas?

I use my brothers P22 every now and then. It absolutely hates remington and winchester ammo. It works absolutely flawlessly with CCI/Federal. I didnt believe guns could be picky with ammo until I seen it for myself.

I have a Ruger Mk II that I've owned for years. It is accurate reliable and has never rejected anything I've tried to feed it.
Mine is the 5.5" bull barrel model, blued.
Whenever someone asks about a good 22 I point at the Ruger.
The Mk III has some 'improvements' that can be undone so if you can't find a Mk II you can go with that.

Yep. Have a P22 runs perfect on cci blazer bulk. Guns especially .22 semi's can be very ammo sensitive they do not have alot of power to work with. The tolerances between .22 ammo is See for yourself grab a few different rounds of .22 ex. cci, fed, rem, win, and measure them. I was shocked at what I saw. It was a while back so I do not remember the specifics.

Get the mark III, super accurate and there are a ton of after market parts. I just picked up the accurizing kit and a red dot, can't wait to hit the range.
