Pull the sear housing block and look, but if it was made over a year ago than it probably needs to be upgraded. I believe Midway and Brownells carries them which reminds me that I need to buy one.

Theadjack. I also have a M&P40 that's in need of some upgrades. DCAEK for sure and new sights. I know I want a red fiber optic front, but not sure about the rear. Thinking about keeping the stock rear with a red fiber optic front. Anyone have any thoughts in this?

Also thinking about a 9mm conversion barrel. I like the 40S&W, but I don't have a full size 9mm in my safe yet. I do have a Glock 26. Any thoughts on the 9mm conversions for M&P40s? Threadjack over.

I'm interested to hear your decesion with sights. I talked to this guy at the local gun range he said ameriglo and truglo are at the lower end of the brightness game and at a brand that starts with an "m" was the best. He was also really big on the heinie 8 sights? I will begin research now haha. Seems like there's just a **** load out there.

Brightness doesn't determine the quality of the sights, Meprolights may be brighter than Trijicon but I prefer the more defined vials from Trijicon. YMMV

Truglos are bright, two of my guns wear them. Truglo nitesights on the left(G27) TFOs in the center(XDm .40)

Way too bright for my taste, not to mention that I want my eyes drawn immediately to the front sight.
