Kimbe pro covert II

I know zero about 1911s other than I wanted a wilson combat X tac but just cant seem to save the cash or really justify over 2K for a hand gun right now.

Then I seen this Kimber that really caught my eye. ( I buy guns that I think look cool) Normaly I would just buy it if it was 700-800 bucks but at 1400-1500 I want to make sure it isnt just looks.

I did a lil research and couldnt find anyone with this gun but I did find a bunch of Kimber haters. is it just hate or are the guns over priced and over hyped like I read?

I shoot a HK USP 9mm mostly if that helps any comments?

River City Gun Exchange had some Kimbers in stock when I was in last week. I think it was a Ultra Carry and a CDP.

I've never seen one of those in so cal. Your paying a lot for the grips since they have a laser built in it. Your better off just buying an aluminum frame 1911 and and cerkoating it brown and throwing on some fancy grips. I highly doubt it functions/shoots any better than their cheaper products.
