    Offered several used handuns

I have a chance to buy a group of pistols in one batch, seller was going to take them to local PD.

Im trying to figure out a fair price. What do you guys do to determine value? dont want to rip off the guy but be hard to pay top for them all...just asking for some ideas.

He wont sell them to dealer or PPT, I tried to get him to put them up here...anyway Im thinking offering what a gun store would buy them for at least.

That will be a smokinnn deal for you, think shops will generally give 40-60 of market buying value.

try gunbroker or guns america for a baseline price.

Bottom line is if you want to take posession of them legally, you MUST go through an FFL via PPT. No other way to be legal.

Your post says he won't PPT? How do you plan on buying them? In order for you to legally buy them, you need to complete Private Party Transfers on the guns (PPT)

If he is not willing to legally transfer the guns to you, let him take them to the police dept.

Ok you post above came in while I was typing.

If you can give us an ideal of what the guns are and condition, we can give ballpark prices, you can also compare the guns with sales on Gunbroker

Im confused, he wants to turn them into the PD instead of making money?

It sounds like you could offer him 1 dollar for it all. But then he does not want to do PPT....

Oh, good, that looked weird for a minute.

Remember, unless you live in LA city, 1-in-30 does not apply to PPT.

well, if he's willing to destroy them and it's gonna cost you money to repair them, let him know that and low ball him($50). If he says no, ask him what he thinks is reasonable and negotiate from there.

In poor condition, you are probably going to have to put a lot of time, work and possibly money into the guns to bring them up to at least decent condition. I personally would offer no more than $1000, figure that is an average of $200 per gun, for the group. I would start off lower than that but set that as a maximum. It is still a decent amount of money for the guy considering he was just going to turn them in to the the local PD.

"Moms Demand Action" sounds less like a gun control group and more like the title of a porn flick from the mid-90s.
