My Duracoated XD

Just got my Springfield XD9 back from Tom at Firepower Depot. He did a fantastic job. It looks awesome and I love it.
The pics aren't that good, but I'll take better ones later. I was just so excited to show it off.

He made the grip area, front strap and back strap black and inlaid all of the engraving in OD green to match the frame. The best part is the Springfield logo on the top of the slide but I couldn't get a good picture of it yet. I will.

If you need any gunsmithing or duracoat work done, I highly recommend Firepower Depot. He has my Sig 1911xo right now and is replacing the trigger and doing a reliability job on it. I'm stoked to get it back later today.

Nice! I'm going to do one of my Glocks the same way this week. i already have the paint. Is that actually the "OD Green" as sold by Duracoat. I know they have many greens, just checkin. I bought OD Green and wanted to see how dark it really was painted on something.

I always thought my XD was king of boring with the OD frame and black slide. Not anymore. Now it's unique.

I'm not sure what the actual duracoat color is. I jut wanted it to match the frame. I'm going to see him later this afternoon to pick up my sig and I'll ask him.

I was going to try to do it myself too. I'm so glad I didn't. I'm sure I would have f'd it up.

That is truly some beautiful work. Bookmarking this thread so I can lookup the guys information when I get around to getting some work done on my guns. The small details truly set this gun apart. Hard to see the green in the engraving in a few of the pictures but I am sure that it pops when you look at it in person.

Wow looks awesome. Is there a reason why you decided to duracoat instead of cerakote? Neverless, the finished product looks great!
