    Glock 26 vs. M&P 9c?

I would like to hear your thoughts on these two hand guns. Don't worry, I WILL try both. Just curious on others' opinions.

They are pretty much equal, you have to shoot each to see which one you shoot better. For me the M&P 9c has less felt recoil with my carry rounds.
My opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.

I used to have both and I believe M&Pc is little bigger than Glock 26. As for recoil wise, I am pretty sure M&Pc has little less recoil than Glock 26 due to weight. Can't go wrong with either one. However, I did not like the factory M&P trigger so I ended up ordering APEX Ram. I think factory Glock trigger is better than factory M&P trigger.
I sold it because I am planning to buy Smith & Wesson 380 Bodyguard instead when I do get hire by Sheriff's Department.

Crossbreed makes good holster for Glock 26 and M&Pc... very comfortable.

You've chosen wisely, and either one will serve you well.

When you try them, ignore what "feels" better and choose which one you SHOOT better. You're choosing a pistol, not a recliner, and feelings lie.

Owned and ccw'd a glock 26 until I bought a m&p 9c. The grip of the m&p is much better for me, the 26 felt like a block to me. M&P with a crimson grip is pure win for me. The 26 was a great gun but ergo wise it was not so good for me.

In general, I prefer the M&P series over Glocks.
                That said...
More specifically, M&P 9/40 compacts are slightly larger than the G26/27. Subcompact Glocks are more anti-snag.
The rail on the M&P compacts are pretty useless for carry as it will more likely snag on something.

I've carried my 9c over a year in multiple holsters, OWB, IWB and even Pocket with 0 problems of that tiny rail snagging. Nor have I ever heard anyone else mention that so it's a non-problem.

If use it as CCW, pick the lighter one, the G26. If not, the M&P 9c. The stock trigger from M&P is not that bad. Just takes some time to handle it.

I had the same choice (except in 40S&W) when I bought my first carry gun. I chose the Glock over the M&P (and XD sc) for a couple reasons. Keep in mind, these were my own opinions gathered from shooting both guns side by side.

1: The finish is exponentially better on the Glock than the M&P. Mold flashing was almost non-existent on the Glock, and the M&P looked like it was put together sloppily. I preferred the smooth and streamlined slide of the Glock over the M&P's rough matte finish.

2: The recoil felt a tiny bit less with the Glock than with the M&P, but that could have been my imagination or that the M&P didn't fit my hand as well.

3: The magazine baseplate. As the bottom of the grip, the M&P pinched my finger every time I shot, but the rounded Glock baseplate felt much nicer.

4: The trigger safety. The M&P trigger safety rubbed my trigger finger raw and the Glock didn't.

5: The trigger pull. The Glock had a nice crisp break and the M&P felt mushy and soft. Also, the reset on the Glock was tiny, whereas I felt like to reset the M&P I had to almost completely let go of the trigger for it to reset.

Please keep in mind that these are my experiences alone, and that I am in no way saying one gun is better than the other, just that the Glock happened to fit me and my likes much closer than the M&P. Your mileage may vary. The only way for you to decide is to go shoot both guns and see what you like best. You might find that everything I said is the complete opposite of what you thought.

                      Hope that helps.

Too bad the gen 4 glock is not on the CA DOJ list -- the Gen 4 glock 26/27 has 3 different back straps, like the M&P, making it easier to fit different sized hands.

I like both the Glock 26 and the M&P 9c. However, I have found that the trigger guard on the smaller Glocks irritates the middle finger on my shooting hand (the finger that goes immediately under the trigger guard). I still want to shoot both a few more times before I decide which I like better.

They are equal in most aspects. One is not more reliable than the other. So, it just depends on how they feel in your hands.

I own a G26, and my buddy just picked up the M&P40c (not the 9, but damn close). First impressions are that the M&P certainly looks way cooler, and it feels much better in both our hands. The Glock looks dated when side by side. They seemed about equal in width, with maybe a little shorter on the G26 grip. One thing I don't know yet is if the M&P can step to the G26 in reliability, but if it does I would probably go for the M&P if I didn't also own a Glock 17 (since I can use my G17 mags in my G26, making my G26 a good gun to have in an emergency kit since my G17 would be my go to gun).

Neither of us has even had a chance to shoot his new M&P yet, so maybe that would change things.
