I have a beautiful springfield ss target with fiber optic front sites and black larry davidson grips. magwell. its a .45. It shoots great. My problem is , i want a conceal carry gun and always liked the EMP in 9mm. I know the EMP cost alot but besides the cost, would I regret trading my only 1911 for a EMP? seems crazy but I cant stop thinking about it. I cant afford to have both. The only way to get the EMP is to trade for it. I own a G17 and a CZ75b .40 also . My thought is that later , I could save for a RIA tactical or match down the road to fill the 1911 .45 acp gap.

Keep the target, sell the glock and save a little for the EMP.
I have a ton (ok just a few) of glocks, but don’t worry, you can always get another one of those

I would probally sell the CZ before the glock just because I made the glock super custom and love it. The CZ ,I just got. It feels great and shoots even better but, I like the CZ sp-o1 in 9mm better and Im not too sure about the DA/SA trigger yet.Comment

I got an sti spartan ill trade you.
ive had I think 4 emps. Bought them, then traded, then had to have one again. Great gun. I have nothing negative to say about the gun- with the exception of the price. We are only stewards of our guns. Nothing wrong with getting rid of one provided you replace it with another
Iam a good shot. At least i think i would be. Iam a good free throw shooter.Comment

Sounds like you will regret the trade because you will miss your ss. I would advise to wait it out, save some money and get one later on. If you said you hate your 45 then I would say do it, but...... Just my opinion though.Stupid people; They're breeding.

If you are asking others whether to trade or not, you already indicated that you are hesistant to trade it away.
Choose the pistol you know you won't miss too much or something you can get again along the line just in case you do miss it.Current Armory:

I know it's not in your budget right now, but you have a nice collection and it does sound like you like your 1911 a lot. I would just hold out a little longer and save to buy an EMP or another compact 1911. Have you considered carrying something besides a 1911?Comment

I woud say keep it because once you get a gun that shoots well for you, keep it. Not to say EMP's are bad guns by any means but you never know if you end up with a friday gun when right now you know you have a good gun.Originally posted by barrageThat's because Excelsior threads are like toilet bowls. Yeah , I hear ya guys. I should just keep the 1911 and save up from there. I was going to get a glock 26 and go that route. maybe that's the lessor of the two evils. Im just addicted to calguns and love trying new stuff. I havent found "the perfect gun" yet if there is such a thing. I should start a thread... "whats your perfect gun" . im curious now.Comment

Have you tried the G26 yet? I like mine just due to having very small hands and it actually fits me pretty well (probably one of the few people who can get most of my hand on the grip without the pinky going under the magwell).
My suggestion is that you keep your .45. I've purchased and sold many handguns over the years and I regret everyone I've sold. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had to go back and find one of my older guns and buy it again. Not to mention the few that probably will never be replaced.
Save until you can afford the Glock, usually you can find a used one around for a few bucks off normal retail. I picked up a G19 at the end of last year for $399. From the looks of it I would say it had its test fire at the factory, and then put in someones safe.
