Springfield armory XD .45 acp

Anyone know when this will be available in the PRK? I was looking at picking up another 1911 when I found out the XD pistol in 45 acp was coming out. I seriously considering the XD pistol.

I just bought an XD .40

I feel the .45 is too big for the xd size gun. I would stick with the .45 in a 1911 and get a .40XD. The XD45 is much bigger in the grip area. Also, if you get the xd40 you can buy a 9mm barrel for 125 bucks and swap them out shooting 2 calibers in that one gun :-) I heard the .40 mags will take the 9mm too and someone mentioned on xd200talk.com that you can fit 15 9mm rounds in that 10rd .40 mag. ::Cool::

Damn..that's not good..I have small hands. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I have short fingers. I can't get my hands around any double stack 45 out there (not even the DS 1911's) and still reach stuff (like the trigger ). Too bad they didn't design it around double stack 10mm...I bet I could work with that. It will be thinner than a Glock...but I don't think it will be thin enough.

I think I'll stick with the 1911 for 45.

well the xd-45 GAP is built in the same frame as the 40 and 9mm. And its great, I really like it.

I heard the XD45 ACP is going to be very close to the same and not big in the grip at all....

I cant wait till it comes out.

Thats kinda wrong, see the .40 actually has more recoil because it has alot higher pressure, so it really snaps the hand more than a .45. Wait for the .45 and you won't be sorry.Also the XD was made to mimic the 1911 grip angle.

Seems like it's top selling point, 14 rounds of .45 ACP is lost on us Californians, so I don't see the excitement about it.

It's good for those looking for a .45 acp to carry on-duty, but want more capacity than what single stacks have to offer and perhaps don't like Para Ordnance's LDA's.

Me personally? I go with a Para Ordnance single stack LDA. =]

From what I understand from those who have it in other states, this is not the case. I have not been able to verify this as I have yet to see it on the counter anywhere in Cali still, of course becuase it is still "waiting certification".

My understanding is that the grip is a little longer front to back but is within hundredths of an inch in all dimensions due to their changing the thicknesses of the composite.
