    sight installation

I'm ordering some night sights (probably will get TruGlo TFO) and I'm looking for a smith to install them on my Glock 17 in the South Bay.

Is it a standard procedure that's done the same way everywhere or do you guys have a recommendation for the best place to it? Thanks.

I did it on mine....bought a front sight tool from glockstore($20) at the gun show. Then followed the tutorial you see on youtube about glock sight replacement. Just make sure that you use a brass punch( i used a steel punch and caused very tiny marks on the rear sight upon installation). I put TruGlo on my 34 and Trijicon Nightsights on my G23.

Checked out some youtubes, seems easy enough though I don't have a vice either atm.

How did you align front & rear? My experience is tainted by the minute adjustments on the M16, seems like with the Glock you adjust with the hammer and punch?

the front sight just sits squared while the rear should be adjusted by the hammer and punch. I bought a table top vise at the show for $20.

If you still need a smith, I know one in La Mirada. PM me so I can give you his info.

Before I got a vise... I use to sandwich the slide between two 2x4 blocks, and screwed the blocks into a wood bench. Worked great.
