    Cheap Holster Comparison for Glock

    G23

    Fobus Paddle - $20
    Rides 1" lower
    Easier to R&R
    More room to slide rearward

    Glock factory - $10
    Rides 1" higher
    Tighter to your side

    Retention's about the same.
Not any significant difference, but the Glock factory holster gets the nod.

Well what is the purpose of the holster? Concealed carry? Competition? For competition, both of those holsters are way too high. How fast can you draw with them? Do your elbows go up to your ears with them?

Also, for $10 ... that's pretty darn good.

I use the Glock for concealed carry.

Thus, the slightly higher ride gets the nod.

For carry I would strongly suggest spending a bit more money and getting a holster that will be comfortable to wear for a long duration.

I love my cheapo Glock holster!

You could of actually cut the tabs on the belt holder to make it ride a little lower. As you can see on the picture if you look at the left side of the Glock holster the part where the belt goes into can be cut out to ride lower or higher depending on where you like the gun to sit. For my 19 and 26 the way I cut mine rides perfectly.

For low dollar it's great and retains very well for an owb holster!

I guess I'm old fashioned but you can't beat the looks or feel of leather. I have a BLACK HILLS LEATHER holster that rides high open top tooled leather.

Have you tried loop the belt on the outside of the glock plastic holster?
Go through the belt loop, outside of the holster and back in.
This really holds the holster super tight to the body!

It's comfortable enough not to merit spending more money.

I like leather, too, especially with my Custom CCO

Haven't tried looping my belt outside, but thanks for the suggestion.

Cheap gun + cheap holster = win (especially when the both work well)
