    Sigma trigger mod?

I know I've seen this here but now I can't find it. How do you modify the S&W Sigma pistol trigger to have a lighter pull? I find my .40 cal Sigma to be a very durable gun, but after shooting my M&P and Springfield 40's I'd like the Sigma trigger to be more like those pistols. Help!

As a long time Sigma .40 owner - I'll be straight up with you.

The trigger mods help ... to an extent. But the Sigma trigger (by design) will never be like your M&P and Springfields. It was intentionally designed to mimic a double action revolver with a long, heavy pull.

If you really want to do the mod, do this:

Pull out the sear assembly. On the bottom piece you'll see a captured spring, with another internal spring. Remove the outside one, and only use the internal spring. That will lighten the feel a bit. A better mod, is to polish all the metal on metal surfaces. Sigmas have a notoriously gritty trigger, and this will help smooth it out a lot. You can also replace the striker spring with a lighter one from wolff.

I've done all of the above mods, and more to my Sigma. It's a great shooting gun, one I will probably never sell. But it will never have, again by design, a glock or M&P trigger.

Well I did 2 mods and it is better than a lot of more expensive guns I have. The wolf spring helps ALOT but it will light strike sometimes. So if it isn't your primary SD and you just have it for target do that as well. Change the striker spring to the wolf spring, Polish the metal parts in the trigger assembly, And remove 2 springs ill give you the link. After all said and done my sigma is at 4.5lbs trigger pull.

They don't do that anymore so op don't try it.

I forgot to add: The only mod that messes up the reliability is the striker spring. If you want it reliable then do the other mods I posted the link to and NOT the striker spring. When I put the wolf striker spring on it would light strike maybe once every 20 rounds.

OK, followed the Youtube link and removed two springs. I'll give it a try at the range ASAP. Thanks a bunch!

You should also polish the metal parts in the trigger configuration it helps a lot with the grittiness. Either way it feels a lot better, And my groupings shrunk a heck of a lot. Good luck.

None whatsoever. The only problem I've had was with the striker spring light striking. Like I said above if it is just a range gun and you don't have a problem with a LS every so often then replace the striker spring. If it is your SD gun don't do the SP. Ive put about 2000 rounds since I did the mod and I've yet to have any kinda problem at all. Hell Ive yet to have a problem with it PERIOD. Great gun at a great price once you get rid of the trigger issue. Its officially down to 4.5 lbs.
