    springfield xd service times?

    hey all,
sent in xd9 with broken extractor in early dec for warranty work to replace the extractor. it still hasnt come back..its gonna be close to two months. from all the posts here i thought they were really quick with turnaround times. anyone else have work done in this time frame? the shop thought it was due to holidays/ gun shows etc.

Thats odd, have you called them, or gotten any correspondence from them at all?

Would be a good idea. Why did you have your shop do it? Springfield sends out fedex Call tags for warranty work, you can ship it directly and get it back to you without an FFL.

Hate to say this, but it sound like something more on your FFL's side.

Most people report around 2 week turnaround even for light custom work.

I'd have dealt directly with SA as well.

Just curious, how many rounds when the extractor broke?

It broke at the range so the shop said they'll send it in for me which I appreciated since I don't have to be home to sign for fed ex since I work late. Yeah I was kinda disappointed in xd. Have less than 1500 rounds I would say and use factory ammo and don't drop a bullet in chamber or whatever that maneuver is. Yeah I thought it might be ffl but they have assured me it was sent in.

Sorry to hear. Can happen with just about anything though. Id still call and be sure they actually received it though.

FWIW My .45 compact has over 5k through it with no issues. When you get it back it should be fine for a long while.

That is kinda early for a part to go, +1 on being disappointed.
As well fwiw, I have a sub9 circa year 2004, my guesstimate would be 8k rounds on this one.
No issues except for a magazine spring change, and the 3-dot paint is pretty much gone.
