XS Big Dots

I am thinking about getting a pair for some of my defensive pistols and I wanted to hear what people think of them.

On a separate note, watch this video and post down below with what is seriously wrong towards the end.

I can do the same thing without any sights at all. Its called muscle memory. Truth is XS big dot front sight will COMLETELY cover the target at 25 yards. Yes you can hit poppers, but hitting precision shots will be much harder. I prefer a narrow blade without a dot.

While I have not tried Big Dots, I have used Ameriglo Proglo/Hack front sights with 10-8 rears with good resuls on my Glocks. My old eyes are finding it difficult to pick up the front sight with dark background.

I just ordered a set of Trijicon HD's to put on a Sig to try them out.

Same here. My old eyes don't like the X dot. Wish it worked for me

Chim is right.....not a precision sight by any means.

Recently in my search for knowledge and the desire to drain my pocket of more money...hahah...I ordered a set of 10-8 sights with a BRASS BEAD up front.

I installed them on my recently assembled Franken-Glock 19. I must admit they are easy to use. That Brass Bead being GOLD colored is easy to see. So far after a couple of Range Trips I've decided to keep them.

i tried the big dot and did not like it. it covers up the entire target. i replaced it with a burris fastfire red dot. much happier.

Check out the guy standing out at the target line on the far left while the guy is shooting. Seems very wrong to me!

Same here, I tried xs big dots before and I did not like it all.
In fact, I prefer factory sights than xs sights.

I had XS BigDots on my M&P, did not really like them.

What I run on my XD are the Hexsites from Goshen. They have been great with my astigmatism and have been shooting wonderfully with them.

If you have some eyesight issues, I'd highly recommend them.

**I plan to post a review of the Hexsites complete with pics hopefully this week.

I have used them on glocks and m&ps and have found them great for fast shooting at body sized targets inside 10 yards. At 25 yards a lot of effort is needed to hit the target due to the massive front sight. Again, for close quarters when precision is not needed, xs sights will shine. If you are looking for 50 yard sights these are a bad idea.

This is James Yeager of Tactical Response. Why are you surprised, he has a track record for this kind of stuff.

The XS sights are just taking an Express Rifle (Dangerous Game) idea and applying it to a handgun without taking into account that the handgun lacks the same contact/alignment points as a rifle. The larger front dot gives the impression of being on target faster, but the widespread ears of the rear blade make vertical alignment much slower.

I looked into XS, didnt really like 'em...

Trijicon HD look to be a great choice - I have standard Trijicon and Meprolight on a few of my pistols and really wish I had gone with the Trij HD.

My introduction to xs sites was at a tactical hand gun shoot with a bunch of type a's from the various points of .gov. I ended up shooting a whole bunch that day but I liked the speed and the night time function.

The gentlemen whose pistol I used told me simply they were designed to be combat sights 7-25 yards and they work very well. However I have shot accurately out to 125+ yards with mine on my glock. And everyone who themselves have glocks that has shot mine, have all said they were more accurate than the factory sites out to 50 yards. Even my old boss who is a total usp tactical snob liked them.

And at night there simply the best of any sights I have ever used. he he so much so guess what I am getting for my cqb gun

I just Dros an used Gen 2 Glock 19. It was a police trade in with night sights that are burned out. I pick up on the 13. So it seemed like the perfect excuse to try out the XS. I just ordered the ones for 60 bucks from Brownells with out the tritium just to try them out. I don't need precision out to 25 yards, The Range only goes out to 15.

The reason I bought these were because I'm cross eye dominant so I need a lil extra help to catch my eye and make it focus. Once everything arrives I'll update.

I'm gonna order the 10 8 brass bead set up also for my gen 3.
