Legality of disassembled firearm in vehicle

So I'm aware of the proper methods of transporting firearms in our state.

Do all of the same laws apply to guns that are disassembled? My guess is yes, but I wanted to confirm.

Specifically I'm wanting to get an AR-7 to put in my car kit.

WTB: multiautomatic ghost gun with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Must include shoulder thing that goes up.

I am pretty sure there is no requirement to lock up long guns anyway, so you should be fine. You might have some explaining to do if it ends up in the wrong hands though.

      This.

But there's no real point to disassembling a firearm, legally, because it's still a firearm unless you disassemble with a chopsaw.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

But disassembly could change something from a semiauto, centerfire rifle with too many evil features to parts and a lower receiver.

Thanks guys. This is in line with what I thought the response would be.

Just wanted to check to be sure.

It could - but that's a very technical point of law, and won't be very useful in a field contact.

What's the old saying - "The side of the road is not the place to argue points of law with a cop " or something to that effect.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.
