    Auto Ordnance 45acp question?

I got bought this gun for someone and needed minor repair. The recoils spring was shot and the guide seemed messed up as well. Along with the barrel. I got it on the cheap so I didnt mind fixing this up. Well I got everything fit in perfectly. Took it out and shot it roughly about 40 times, ran perfectly smooth! Well I got home to do some cleaning of it. I took the slide off and looked at the recoil guide spring... the front of guide was already chewed up! Is this normal for this to happen? Cause I wouldnt think so... here is two pics of it.

Is this one of the old Arcadia Machine & Tool guns?

If so, they had some serious issues re: recoil springs. My dad got one (a long slide, no less) for about a hundred bucks a few years back because some guy couldn't get it to run right. He put a new guide rod and recoil spring in, and it was great after that. Never had a problem again.

I could use a full length guide rod, but I just think it looks silly with one, but if I have to I have to ya know? and I am not sure if its an Arcadia Machine & Tool gun. Might be? Also why would want to spend a couple hundred bucks for the full slid recoil guide when the recoil guide is like... 7 bucks?

What's it say about the manufacturer on the frame? Location?

FLGR < $50. Or pick one up at eBay for $25 for whole set.

Hm I think I may have found one at midwayusa for 30 bucks. It has the full recoil rod and the plug with the hole. Should work if I am correct?

Hm, so I went out shooting the other day and shot around a good 100 rounds and interesting to say there is no further damage to the recoil guide... Oo maybe its just suppose to wear in like that?
