    Is this right?

I put a deposit down on a Glock 19 on Saturday. They didn't have it in stock so they had to order it. I went to one of the small local shops to support local businesses. The guy told me that Tuesday (he's closed Sunday Monday) he'd have the serial numbers for the gun and he can't run my back ground and have my ten day waiting period start until he has the serial numbers for the gun. Is that right? I called him yesterday and he didn't have it. I called today about a half hour before closing and then I was told I'd be called back because the guy that took care of it was busy. I didn't get called back. I don't want to be a pain in the *** but come on!?!?! I just want to know when my ten day waiting period is gonna start. At this rate, I'm gonna end up waiting longer. Tuesday would have made it 13 days, today 14, and now if it wasn't taken care of today tomorrow will make it 15... Grrrr WTF?!?! I am un-reasonable?

Can't run the check until they have the serial number. That is correct.

My first purchase. I have a decent collection handed down from my father.

I definitely understand that. I've been jerked around by several gun shops for one reason or another. Sometimes it's just because the guy helping me at the time doesn't have his facts straight. That's why I pretty much only deal with one gun shop in the area anymore (River City).

If you live near by the store, I would suggest that you come the store instead of calling.

I get off work at 5, store closes at 6, the shop is past my house on the way home and traffic is awful. Otherwise I would. I may or may not make it there before closing. That's why I was ok with it being released on a Saturday. If he didnt get the info today, that would mean I have to wait a couple more days because he's closed Sunday and Monday. If I gotta get it during the week, that means rushing from work.

Life happens! Just because your schedule does not coincide with any shop or business schedule is not a reason for concern(maybe a bit of anticipation though).
If you need to be mad about it get mad at the CA DOJ and the lawmakers for the unreasonable demands not the FFL!

Enjoy your new Glock when you get it!

Well I don't like it when people don't come through on what they say they are gonna do. Ya, California laws suck. Guns don't kill people, the people behind them do.
