    M&P trigger questions.

I have a newly acquired M&P .45. The trigger is not so bad but it has no positive reset (which bugs the crap out of me) I see people dropping these APEX kits in their guns. Now I am wondering what can be done with the trigger as far as reset and taking up some of the pre travel as there seems to be a lot, And possibly lightening it up a bit. I also have the model with the mag disconnect but I'm thinking of fixing that issue... If I disable the mag disconnect what models of apex kit do I get? Since I noticed there is a model for one with the disconnect and one without. Thanks fellas.

i put the apex duty/ carry kit in my mp 40, cleans the reset up nicely. and gets rid of alot of the over travel. def worth the money.

That was the one I was looking at. Seems to be the most middle of the road upgrade. The reset is definitely my big concern.

Apex DCAEK in my M&P 9c, the BEST $90 you will spend on your new M&P! And look at getting the Apex RAM as well for ~$30.

Apex RAM for positive reset and it will cost less than $30.

The APEX mods work extremely well, IMHO. Defiantely recommended...

I was going to sell an M&P .45, until the APEX parts were installed

I have an M&P 45 as well and I may end up going the APEX route myself.
I must admit, shooting the gun more does smooth up the gritty feel I had and it seems to break just a touch nicer but it's no 1911.
As for the mushy reset, I don't think you can do anything about it except the APEX route either.

It's sad considering how much I like the ergonomics, the look, functionality, and the low recoil of the gun. I'm hoping that the trigger lightens up a bit as I shoot a few hundred rounds more, but I'm just being optimistic.

I would like to go the APEX route for my M&P45 but need to find a gunsmith in So Cal willing to do the work. I don't have the skills and tools to do it myself.

                  No Smith required!

The one designed for non mag disconnect models

This is the way to disable the magazine disconnect http://www.midwayusa.com/product/546...sig-40-s-and-w

You have to remove the sear housing anyways all you need is a punch and a hammer and watch the apex how to videos.

The RAM will give you a more positive reset. However, Apex does not have one for the 45.

I dry fired mine probably in excess of 1000 times which lightened and smoothened the trigger quite considerably. Having tactile feedback is overrated.

Yeah I saw those vids. Still feel comfortable having a 'smith do it, especially the part where the rear sight has to be removed.

Anyone know of a gunsmith in the So Cal area familiar with S&W M&P's?

Ehhh I don't agree with that especially since I'm so damn used to shooting and feeling for that reset. I'm sure I can get used to it but I would prefer it. I know the trigger will lighten up after some rounds down range. Like I said reset is my biggest concern.

Apex will do it for you. I found removing the mag disconnect helped my 45 trigger a lot.
