Question for the Dan Wesson owners

I'll be picking up my Heritage in 9 days and was going to stock up on some ammo. Do the Dan Wessons like any particular brand of 45 acp or do the eat everything?

My Pointman does well with any FMJ or jacketed hollow points. Doesn't much like lead bullets especially ones with a shoulder like SWC. Same with both my Kimbers. I've not tried Russian ammo in my DW, but my Kimbers don't like it.

Mine will feed an empty case.

Been stuffing my CBOB with home cast 230g TC since I bought it.That's one of the hard to feed rounds and it likes 'em.

wrong...steel cased ammo is fine just as long as your extractor is made from a good spring steel and your particular pistol feeds it...also, NATO doesn't manufacture ammunition, nor do they approve of .45acp (hence 9mm NATO, also not to be confused with 9mm Luger...a big difference in case pressure)

As far as your particular 1911 feeding SWC's (or feeding at all), if your extractor is properly tuned (coming from DW it should be) and your feed ramp is cut at the correct angle (again, coming from DW it should be), it should be no problem.

I have a few DW 1911s. If I get a little lazy and short stroke when fully resizing brass they let me know it by not quite locking up, have to give the slide a little nudge.

Mine doesn't like Russain ammo, not because of the steel casing but because that stuff is so dirty is starts to fowl by the time I've but a box or so through it.

I've never had a misfire or FTF/FTE with any DW. I shoot primarily FMJ 230 ball, and 230 HP.
