Did anyone ever find out if you can remove imprint?

I just came back from Fowler Gun Room, where I got to load that exact same model P229 with a dummy round. The "fin" sticks up an 1/8" max, is colored bright orange on both sides, and it's impossible to see when you're staring straight down the sights.
And on the third day, God created the Remington bolt-action rifle so that man could fight the dinosaurs. And the homosexuals.

Right...at least they had enough sense to offset it so you can't see it when shooting. Honestly, I don't mind the LCI itself, but I really hate the laser etched lettering. First time I put a nice big scratch on the slide, it goes back to Sig for a re-nitron job....

Also, the LCI does NOT allow you to drop in a 357 sig barrel unless you can find one made for CA/LCI. Check out the notch in the rear of the barrel for the LCI. There was no need for that. I have a spare slide from a P229 to use with the 357 sig barrel. So sad.

The imprint is laser etched through the nitron to the stainless underneath. Therefore, you need to recoat (or bead blast) the slide to get rid of it.

Also, The mag disconnect and the magazine from the .22 LR are incompatible. Making the .22 conversion kit useless on a CA P229 EE. Still a great firearm.

I've seen the P229 Enhanced Elite at 3 stores now, all of them had the LCI with laser writing on it.
I got mine from Jensen Arms from Loveland, CO for $889.99 + $25 shipping. DROSed last month from FCA. No nasty LCI and mag disconnect on my P229 EE.

Yeah, it definitely looks a lot better without the LCI, but it didn't stop me from buying one.

I saw the P229 Enhanced Elite at my local Turners earlier over the weekend. I was in a hurry and didn't get a chance to see it closely, just the profile view when it was in the case. Came back the next day cash in hand and saw that horrible etching on top. Well, sorry Sig, lost out on a sale there.

I was all ready to go scoop up my first Sig, the 229 Enhanced Elite, then I saw the horrid LCI and etching. So I decided to SSE a 226 Elite Dark via EBR works instead!

A matching 229 version of the Elite Dark will be next.

My P229R-BTFO didn't have the LCI nor mag disconnect. Just bought it last month from local FFL.

The model the OP bought was the new Enhanced Elite, the BTFOs I don't think have been updated since these new safeties were implemented.
