    What's up with STI 1911s????

I hardly ever see threads about their spartan 1911 9mm, why?
Are they not good?? I know they are not on the roster but that doesn't stop people from talking about guns that are off the roster.

I'm considering selling my XDm for one of these. Let me know what you guys think about these guns.

Its a quality firearm for the price... You will be very happy with it. But, then again I always look @ 1911/2011 as a great start platforms that just begs to be modified...

This pretty much. The harder to get, the less you see it talked about.

Why not just get a RIA and upgrade the internals...the frame, slide and barrel are all the same

Isn't it common knowledge that the STI Spartan is put together at Armscor?

They do use STI internals and the crew is trained by STI to their standards, but the frame, slide and barrel come right off the regular assembly line

Not only are they off roster, I've been told they refuse to deal with CA so it is difficult for a SSE-friendly FFL to get one shipped here, they have to use a middleman FFL and not tell STI where the final destination is.

I've got a 9mm STI Trojan and it is one fine machine.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Can't think of any STI worth buying other than their race guns.

@@@9mmepiphany.... If I do that, I'm sure once I pay the gunsmith and buy all the parts, it will end up costing more.

"We" are talking to STI about policy changes.

It would seem that some staff members understand that Californians have green money.

Often times STI products are priced higher than their competitors without being better (plus the horrible rollmarks on many of their guns). Race guns are where they shine.
