EMP 9mm

Does anyone have any experience with the Springfield EMP? I am considering getting one after handling one at the gun store. Feels good in my hand but I have never shot one. Thinking of getting a new carry gun.

I have a feeling that when you do shoot one, your consideration will end and you'll buy it. That's how it went down for me. It's very accurate, well made, and smooth shooting. Recoil is less than what you might expect. You could pay less and get a great gun, but you would not regret purchasing an EMP.

im also interested in getting one of these but scared of the reliability seen a bunch of post about it not being reliable but of course you always here more bad than good, not alot of gun stores carry this gun at all so i would jump on it!

I have shot the EMP in 9mm... I loved it! If i had the cash to put one in jail, I would get one in a heart beat.

I've gotten to shoot two different EMPs (both 9mm) and must say; I was impressed---neat smaller 1911 type pistol---all controls in all the usual places---good triggers---slim---solid---reliable---I could own one. My only criticism is that the pistol weighs noticeably more than say, my PPS or CW9. Oh, and one of the owners said he had to send his pistol back to the factory for feeding issues---but now it's fine (both worked fine when I shot them). Like I said, I could own one---one day I probably will!

I love mine. Been reliable so far. I think the problems were with the early ones and even then not big problems. If you do have issues Springfield will take care of it for you.

I think you will be hard pressed to find someone that has an EMP or has shot one and doesn't like it

I saw it at cordova shooting range. Never heard of it before then

Does anyone know if any ranges rent them in the sac or bay area? I would really like to shoot one. I was considering a lc9 until I shot one.

ok thanks just went on cordova shooting center website and saw they do have one, little to far from me to check it out going to call other stores and see if they have

these are pretty damn pricey though, for that much cash i can get a ar-15 i been lagging on getting

Here is the review of mine when I got it a couple of years ago.

It has been great, very accurate and reliable, and has become my most carried pistol. I think it is a great value when you consider the workmanship that went into this.

I did change out the thumb safety for a single sided Brown extended one. The only issue was a hesitation to close when the slide was eased down...not something you'd notice if you just ran it normally

I think there is a pretty decent gun shop in vaccaville close to the outlets.

I don't know if center mass carries the EMP and guns fishing and other stuff sucks but they do carry them
