Wow, good input!
The gun is only for target use. No SD uses...
Thanks! My Opinion - Worth What You Paid For It...

agreed.Originally posted by jessegpresleyAccording to the Dan Wesson website, the gun has already been dehorned. The gun has also already been bead blasted, save for the polished flats. One thing I would add is to undercut the trigger guard. Other than that, it doesn't sound like you really know what you're hoping to accomplish with this gun, other than pimp it out. You're kinda all over the place with options.
How long have you been shooting this particular gun?

The DW BB finish doesn't quite look the same as a Satin finish, the two pictured below.
Factory PM7

Stain BB Finish

The barrel cut/bushing look I mentioned, with a mild smothing or (external) dehorning:

Use of the weapon per post #4 - target shooting only. No SD/HD. It will not be carried.
The smith it's going to will get the accuracy to < 1.25" @ 25 yds. So accuracy & looks. I wouldn't call it "pimped out"; I think it's just making a nice 1911 look better.
Thanks for the feedback...

I would just shoot it they[ Dan Wesson PM7] are about as nice as nice can be as is!! IMO it would be like doing work on a Wilson combat,it just doesn't need to be done.California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.Comment

Dan Wessons are very nice guns but they are far from "perfect"...a top end Smith and a couple of well chosen upgrades/mods can benefit any semi-custom 1911.
Including Wilson Combats...

I've always thought it was nice to have the top of the slide textured. A series of 10 or so lines running the length of the slide on top is damn cool. Checkering is ok but the lines look great. Also, if you checker the fs go with 30lpi. It doesn't sound like a big difference but it feels like one. 30lpi is where you start to get the feel of luxury. It's too late, it's over.Comment

+1 on the trigger guard undercut (not a real later option, if you checker the FS).
+1 on the flat serrated top. I also like the top black for target guns, but the satin look so nice
Instead of a bushing, what about a flush cut bull barrel.
I love the flat triggers as well.
