I bought the gun as is. I would like to have the stippling repaired if possible. Can it be done and by whom?

um. that looks like a M1911 pistol that was accurized/customized for bullseye. Are you sure you want to "repair" it? What does it say on the barrel?

you can reblue in the barracks. smooth the stippling? the highs or lows? or do you mean the definition/detail in the stippling? youve got a plethora of government tools at your disposal, is there a hobby shack available at your base?

It would really depend on what was done to the pistol. A visual examination would be required. Slide-frame fit. Bushing-slide fit. Bushing-barrel fit. Aftermarket barrel (kart, barsto, nowlin, colt national match) and bushings (kart, egw, clark), and what type of trigger job was done to it. But for sure, the front strap stippling would not be a negative at all to the price. For many it's a big plus.

gotta be, look at the patent dates on the slide. the last one was 1913, it is an oldie, and a goodie, not an A-1
