    Nighthawk magazines

I ordered some Nighthawk 8 round mags and just loaded them up. They don't feel like the Wilson Combat ones that I am used to. It is really hard to unload them. I am wondering if the quality on these is not so good.

Anyone have experience with these? Should I send them back and get either Wilson or McCormick?

I've got six of the Nighthawk 8 rounders that I use in a Kimber Raptor.
Haven't had a problem in a few hundred rounds of lead 200gr SWC or RN of reloads.
I also have mccormicks and wilsons without issues.

I stick with the WC mags. They work perfectly in all my 1911's, no issues what so ever. My buddy had Nighthawk mags and he didn't like them as much as his WC's. Ended up selling them all off.

I have a NHC GRP that include a black 7 rd act magazine, and a stainless 8rd magazine. I ended up purchasing 5 more of the stainless 8rd magazine from the magazine coupon offer from NHC. I haven't had a problem with any of the magazines that came from NHC. I also have a couple of the CMC black 8 rd magazine, which looks pretty nice.

I love the Nighthawk ACTs. I also love the Wilsons.

If they are still using the ACT magazines then they will work good until the right rear portion of the feed lips crack.

Nighthawk still uses the ACT. I just ordered 6 from them. I haven't had any cracking yet, but if I do, it's back to the Wilsons.

I've used the NHC mags without issue. I used them through several pistol courses, at the range, etc. If you don't feel comfortable using them, you should sell them and get the WC's you like. Otherwise you're always going to notice every little thing (perceived or otherwise) with the NHC and never be happy.

Because who cares how they feel by manually removing the rounds with your fingers. And I'm not sure how this "feeling" could denote a quality magazine.

Nighthawk/ACT magazines are quality, Italian made magazines. There are more than just 2 quality mag makers in the world.
I wasn't trying to badmouth the mags. They just feel very different from what I am used to when I was removing the bullets (by hand). I didn't know if it would be a problem. I was thinking that if they were really hard to get out by hand, then they might not work very well in the gun.

I will of course try them in a few days.
