I have a cert for a Glock and am going to order a 21sf, if I ask for an OD one can they send it? Is the color part of the CA approval or just the model?
      where are my pistol mags?

The 21 is fun and functions just like any other Glock albeit with a thicker grip. I prefer the CZ-97 over the 21 because it is heavier and more accurate in my hands. The trigger safety on the 21 tends tickle my index finger more so than my 31 and 34. I'm waiting for an after market company to get parts in so I can convert it to a 9x25 Dillon long slide.

What the new magazines look like:

By the way, I was told that the old 21 magazine won't work in the 21SF - but the new magazine would work in both models.
The grip on the 21SF is a great fit for my hand. I love the slimmer profile.

As stated, the old mags won't work, at least in a 21SF like mine that has the Ambi Release. All current production 21 magazines are coming with the front notch, so any new production will work in both.

If you have any older 21 mags w/o the notch, you can easily cut them, but I would personally replace the mag tube with a new part.

I love my G21. It was my first Glock...then I got a G30, G23 & G26. I will keep going until I have most they have to offer in CA. Other than the fact that you should not shoot "lead" non-copper coated bullets due to the polygonal barrel, the only complaint seems to be that there is nothing to complain about with Glocks.

the glock 21 was my first glock as well my main complaint is that the extractor is not set low enough the only bit doing any work is the lowest 1/16" section if that breaks off no more extraction

if they could just lower it in the slide 1/16" it would relieve lots of stress off of the little dangling unsupported section of hook

at least is it super easy to change out that part

This is a bit of a Glock myth. If you keep the lead of the rifling clean so build up doesn't shorten the headspace they will be fine. I have shot thousands of plated bullets through my Glocks and I have a buddy with 11 who shoots nothing but Bear Creek bullets through them with no issues.

This may be your experience, but mine is very different. I was shooting American Ammunition copper "washed" coated 45 in my G21. After less than a box I started to feel a noticable increase in recoil. I should have stopped immediately. I shot less than 100rds when I decided something was wrong. When I field stripped my G21 and looked down the barrel, I almost choked. At first (yes, I realize this was dumb) I thought the ammo had stripped the rifling of the barrel as it appear "gone". After close inspection, I found that the barrel was completely coated in lead to the point that the polgonal rifling could only be seen at the very end of the muzzle. I tried every product I could find, went on several gun forums to seek advice and eventually had to chip out the lead with a zinc screw driver. Can you shoot lead out of a Glock? Yes, if it is very hard lead. Does Glock recommend? NO! Would I recommend? NO! By the way, the Kaboom (KB) factor of Glocks can be caused by build up of lead fouling.

I just got a 21 SF, ambi release. I love it. It is my first glock and I am addicted. The recoil is really easy to manage and I love the low bore axis. Now I want a glock19!

                        +1 on the G21.

IMO you have to appreciate Glocks for their mechanical design and functionality/reliability. The safe action trigger is very consistent between models and they point in very naturally. Only malfunctions I have seen is shooter induced limp wristing and a G17 with slide lock spring with "up bent" that was damaged/incorrectly assembled after user takedown/assembly (an armoror error).

                            Guys,

Does the CA-approved G21 SF just have the single-sided safety? This means that regular G21 mags will work in that gun, right?

If I ever decide to buy a Glock, it will be a 21 even though I've got 17&32rd 9mm mags. But, I'm not really into the plastic guns.
