    XDm 9 Compact

My mother lives in AZ and decides she no longer wants her XDm 9 Compact and would like to give it to me. I've read and cannot get a clear answer: Can we do this legally being I live in CA? Are there any particulars I need to know if this can be done? My aplogies if this has been covered to death! Thanks.

What you suggest is an interstate intrafamilial transfer.

See the Calguns Foundation Wiki articles on

    Intrafamilial transfer - http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Tr...Family_Members

    Interstate transfer - http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/Tr...rms_Interstate
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thanks Librarian! It looks like I need to follow the instructions in the links you provided and all will be legal. I'm going to pose some what if scenarios/questions to my local gun shop in San Jose that I bought my XD 40 from a couple of years ago to get some clarification on a couple of points.

On a side note, I just love the XD's; I think they're some of the best guns for the money and would like to keep them in the family, so thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
