Sig P250

Okay so I'm thinking about buying a Sig P250, mainly because of the ability to change size and caliber. I've tried to research it, but information is slim.
Is there any difference between the regular P250 Fire Control Group and the CA version?

From what I have found the CA version includes a loaded chamber indicator(which is just part of the slide), but the information on the magazine disconnect is difficult to find.

Is the magazine disconnect part of the grip or the FCG?
Is there anyone that owns one that could take a picture to compare between the CA and standard versions?

The CA. version was never made. I had 2 of them as an LEO, don't bother. I went with the 2022 and still carry it in retirement.

Ah well that would be why information is so difficult to find. I was thinking about getting an XD40 originally, but then I found the P250 was DOJ approved (old info I guess).

Guess its back to the drawing board. lol
Maybe I will have to look into the 2022, I am a fan of Sig and HK.

It says two tone, 9mm compact, 3.9 barrel, stainless steel with polymer frame.
It also needs to be 10 round magazine, external extractor, load indicated and mag disconnect.

If it fits the criteria then it should be OK.

(The magazine disconnect is only to stop the gun from firing without magazine, unless mag is in gun
it won't go bang.)

I'm planning to get one so will see.

The 250 is bad news. 2022 isn't bad however.

The 250 is not a popular gun.
The only major police agency that adopted sig 250s is the royal hong kong plice. It was chosen over the Walther P99 because during testing the P99 had two striker breakages. After adpoting the 250, they've had at least two accidental discharges.

2022 all the way, i'm thinking about picking a new one up at ammo brothers, they have one new for 399.

The DOJ authorized the 250 as stated but SIG decided not to build it to CA specs. If you want to buy one, then your best bet is to purchase it from an LEO who wants to dump it.

The CA approved SIG P-250 was made but never produced.
SIG canceled production because it was not cost effective to produce.

AFAIK... the magazine disconnect was incorporated into the SIG P250 fire control group.


US Federal LE agencies have also rejected the SIG P-250.
-BATFE rejected it due to being unreliable during testing/evaluation phase when they were selecting a new duty sidearm.
-Federal Air Marshals selected it as a replacement for the SIG P-229 (because they got a great deal on them) and issued them out. After a few months, they then recalled them for being unreliable and went back to the SIG P-229.

I handled and examined one in my local LEO shop not long ago. It felt like cheap junk. Holding one next to a P220 I couldn't believe they were made by the same company.

So thanks to some reading on this website, I've discovered SSE. So I will get the gun I've been wanting for a while (XDm 40).
