Beretta Hammer Identification

I placed an ordered from Brownells for this:

When it arrived it came with the correct Beretta USA part number and Brownells description in a sealed bag, however - I have never seen a hammer like it.

I called up Beretta USA to ask them if they modified the Elite II hammer and told them the story and they did not modify or upgrade the Elite II hammer, so I took these two pictures - this is the hammer I received from Brownells next to a standard/stock 92fs hammer.

I have to ask the question; is it possible that Brownells is shipping out non-OEM parts and passing them off as OEM? Or did Brownells just mix up hammers with another pistol (however I cannot find another Beretta pistol that seems to use this hammer). It fit and functioned (dry fire only of course) in my 92FS.

Can anyone identify this hammer?

I doubt that Brownells is swapping parts. Everything is part numbers and in bins. Somewhere down the line the part received the wrong number. I like the looks of it though.

Well it fits in the 92fs, however it doesn't have the same dimensions if you look at the picture closely. I looked at Taurus hammers and Beretta hammers and I couldn't find one that matches it.

I was going to say for 100% sure that's NOT the Elite hammer. (Pulled out my 96 Elite to be sure).

Kinda cool that you figured out what the mistake was. Brownells should fix it for you though.

I did report it to them, and Beretta. This is worrisome due to the fact that they made a mistake on a gun part that is easily identifiable by looks alone. Imagine if this happened with something that wasn't so easily identifiable - people might use it in their firearm and it could damage the firearm and possibly even the shooter.
