    kimber custom 2 vs TLE2

Price difference is about $120 and the TLE2 has grip on the front strap. Trying to decide which one I want to get because through research i believe they are pretty much the same gun with the same trigger. Just looking for some friendly cgn'rs opinions.

You also get the night sights. IMO, it's well worth it to get the TLE over the Custom II, considering the normal prices of the items when you break it down.....

$80 - $120 on night sights (if you do the install yourself, or pay $$$ for labor)
$150 - $200 for front strap checkering by a good smith

The TLE is a Custom with front strap checkering and night sights. As said, much cheaper than doing those things afterward.

When LAPD tested guns, they tested and chose the Custom II. They requested the checkering and the night sights for their SWAT gun which became the TLE for the civilian market.

Voted and have a TLE (stainless) and the sights are worth it; the front strap checkering doesn't do anything for me. Spend the $120 and have no regrets regarding the checkerig, and get the sights to boot!

+1 if the price differance is only 120 bucks thats sights alone basically.

I had the the TLE but sold it to fund another gun...personally, I was not a fan of the checkering for target shooting...and I didn't need the night sights either...if it's purely a target gun, you may want to save the money...
3 day waiting period???? but I'm mad now!!!!!!

I saw both and decided to get the Custom II. To me, spending the extra 120 bucks was not worth it for the checkering or the night sights. Its not going to be my HD gun and I personally dont like the checkering, so I saved 120 dollars.

TLE gets my vote. I went the custom II route and added the night sights later. Bad move. Smith ended up scratching the front of my Kimber and I'm pretty sure the front sight was slightly off. Spend the extra $ and get the TLE done right from the factory.

I'd say TLE for the reasons stated above.

Just bought a new pro carry tle/rl in stainless. Love it! If you want night sites then get it. Its easier in the long run.
