My dad owns one. I just can't get over the fact that the slide doesn't stay open after the last shot.

A friend of mine picked up one about 12 years ago when the .380 was going for like 99 bucks. Right off the bat it was a great great gun and never had any problems. Not a collector piece but it makes holes in things reliably. I would trust my life with one.

I must admit. I wanted to hate on that gun at first. But then heard some good things about it and found out it is 100% manufactured and assembled in the us. And then the amazing.warranty and customer service hi point offers.

U have shot kevlar86 gun. It runs smooth. I have yet to see a ftf fte or any issue for the matter.

Welcome to calguns btw Kevlar your hooked for.life. lol.

It's a great pistol. Mine stays open after the last round. I have shot over 1000 rounds of surplus 9mm threw it with out any problems. 100% reliable

C9 was my first pistol. Looks uglier than sin and has the heft of a paperweight. That being said, it is reliable, easy to break down and clean and was about $150. I would trust it to save my bacon, if it came to that. I have since acquired the 1911 sickness...

added: my slide locks open after last round

I LOVE my C9, although sometimes it's picky about ammo. I've only had it jam once, and that was with HP rounds. Everything else went through no problems, even the Tula ! For a cheap pistol/beginner gun, you can't beat it !

If you can get over their poor ergonomics, weight, and styling, they are great pistols. I want one in 380.

Recently I also became a Hi-Point fan because of this 9mm carbine.
                  What a fun little gun.

Make sure you have a mag lock on that thing. Just saw a case the other day where a guy is charged with felony possession of an AW for having that very same gun.

And their no-questions-asked lifetime warranty applies to all subsequent owners!

I bought a used HP .380 (for $90!). I had a minor issue with one of the mags. I sent it in, they sent me a brand-new one within a week. No receipts, no warranty cards, no cost.

I just picked-up a new HP in 9mm on sale at Turners for $150. Like others have said, ugly, heavy, weirdly shaped, but stone-cold reliable!!! And 100% US made!!!

For $100 it's great. A friend got one and I couldn't make it fail. It's absurdly heavy and ugly, but accurate and unstoppable. His magazine had a problem, old owner had messed it up bad, glued stuff to it, they just sent a new one out. I'd buy any c9 I saw used for backups, truck, boat, bury in the yard guns....

I will admit I was eyeballing one at Turners due to the price tag. It is butt ugly that's for sure. But when my 30 is up from the S&W 22 A I am picking up there Saturday I may go ahead and jail one for the hell of it

I've looked at them, never actually handled one, but with all the issues I had read about with them not being able to properly feed hollow points I decided against it at the time. Was purchasing for home defense and if a gun cannot reliably feed hollow points it does not meet my requirements for a home defense weapon.

That being said I have been thinking about either grabbing the C9 as a plinking gun/back-up/training gun for my gun-noob friends.
