You need look no further, although you may need to save up a few more pennies or buy used.

Springfield - They don't use an added BS safety like the Kimber. I am also quite happy with my RIA - Rock Island Armory. Pick up a RIA, spend the rest on ammo and learn how to shoot and take care of a 1911 and it will never let you down!

Try to find one with a serial starting in "NM"; they're assembled in the U.S. as opposed to Brazil.

It shouldn't make a difference in the quality of the gun, but it makes me feel better knowing that my money is paying some American's wages working in America.

+1, got mine for 835. hard to find for the right price but these babies are BAD ***! Springers are good too my friend has one. Kimber trigger out of the box is way better.
