Good +p 9mm HD ammo..... I NEED ADVICE FROM SIG EXPERTS!

Since my p226 has a folded slide, I am bit concerned.

Granted I am not gonna be running +p ammo through it all the time, but RRichie has mentioned that it's not recommend it to use that ammo in folded slide p226s.

Any input?

So I just ordered the p226 German in 9mm, after I get it and break it in, I wanna use it as my HD replacing the sp2022 in .40.

So recommend me some good 9mm for HD ammo. More recoil, the better.

I'd say either:

Winchester Ranger 124 grain +P or 147 grain

or

Federal HST 147 grain

Both are very good from what I've read, and what I've shot

A hard hitting one is the Winchester pdx bonded I think its 147 grain.

Since the thread title says +p I would say either Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +p or Winchester Ranger T 127 grain +p+. I believe the DPX round by Corbon is also a +p round in 115 grain... any of these would be good choices.

Any reason why you want +p specifically?

P2022 is like a Toyota to sigs P226 Lexus. Lol. I'm just kidding. I think panda is switching from .40 to 9 mm for HD. But to me both guns shoot exactly the same.

After long searching I now use Cor Bon 115gr +P JHP in my CZ-75. I'm sure the Sig can take it but make sure and find out from the experts... you know... the local gun store

And I just use PMC Bronze and CCI Blazer Aluminum Case for the range... nice and cheap.

I dont mind federal, havent shot it as much as other loads, I'm sure there good.

Stick with 115/124/127 grains though.

Winchester Ranger 124/127 +P loads, Gold Dots 124 +P. (never tried nor do I know if they have a 127 grain load).

Federal makes a good 147 grainer but for 9mm I find the lighter loads do better in terms of accuracy, but YMMV.
