I just use a 22cal pistol rod to clean all my guns. Just attach the right size brush and you'll be set up.

This would have been a GREAT Stocking Stuffer to have asked for... Ask for a late one. Get one of those nice multipiece in a nice wood box. Then go and buy one of each calibur so the brushes don't get lonely.

Any rod will fit that gun, 45acp is a big diameter.

or any local gun shop, wallmart, big five.

I really like these nylon cleaning rods from Bianchi for handguns.
They are threaded on the end to accept standard cleaning brushes.
The threaded end is the right diameter for swabbing 9mm barrels.
No chance of damaging a bore or muzzle with this rod:

            And they are cheap!!

Congrats on your purchase. +1 for any rod being able to do the job.

Get the cheap kit at Walmart, then get a BIG jug of Hoppes, a 10-pack of Otis brushes, a BIG bag of patches and a BIG can of CLP. GTG.

I THINK the nylon toothbrush comes in the kit. If it doesn't you'll need one of those too.
