Great pistol. I picked one up last year. Put a cheap red dot on it and blast through bricks of cheap ammo. Good times
I support peace through superior firepower.

Magazines. Genuine Ruger ones. The solid receiver begs for an optic.

Run Mini Mags for a couple hunnert rounds. Mine cycles Federal bulk probably 99% now.

Went to Turner's yesterday. I liked the mark III's grip better, but didn't like the weight. Didn't like the grip of the 22/45.

There is a reason I ignore him. It's like the stupid younger brother that I already have.

Somebody can't tell the difference between 10/22 and 22/45.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

It is not a problem once you know the trick.

I have a MkIII 22/45 hunter and blued regular 22/45, both 4" models. On both pistols I removed the mag disconnect and replaced the hammer/hammer bushing with a Volquartsen Mark II hammer and hammer bushing. This modification alone makes disassembly/reassembly a breeze compared to how it is stock.

I also replaced the stock extractor with a Power Custom extractor and installed a Volquartsen trigger/sear kit. Replacing the extractor for about $10 with a Volquartsen or Power Custom extractor is the best reliability upgrade you can do to the gun. The gun is good stock but the Volquartsen trigger kit is WAY better. If you never try it you won't miss it but if you do, you'll never want to go back to stock. The improved trigger is super crisp and has barely any travel versus stock.

I also rounded the sharp corners of the magazines to help feeding. Total cost for all the modifications was around $100 and easy to do myself. The modifications are well worth the price. Good information for the MarkIII 22/45 can be found at RugerForum.net.

My guns work best with Federal bulk ammo from Walmart. Remington gold bullets work alright with the exception of about 10% factory duds. Premium ammo like CCI Stingers works flawless but it is substantially more expensive than bulk .22lr ammo.

I got a Mark III for Christmas and I have to say I LOOOOVE this gun!

I didn't the 10/45 because I'm not a fan of the grip but end the year I plan on owning another of these. Maybe the stainless or hunter, heck I might even change my mind if Turners have another sale and get a 10/45!

The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

This is the greatest gun for plinking or training someone to shoot.
I taught my 12yo daughter how to shoot on the 22/45, and to this day she has NO FLINCH when shooting her 9mm. We also used that gun for her in a basic handgun class, and she outshot the adults.

There are some very good videos on Youtube that help in field stripping, btw.
