why would you compare a 1911 to a glock. i would do polymer to polymer, so probably an xd/xdm or something.

it seems to be the biggest "rivalry" ive seen between pistols. glock owners calling 1911 owners "1911 fanboys" and 1911 owners calling glock owners "glock fanboys" (myself included)

it is a bit unfair to compare an entire 100 year old platform to 1 manufacture, but 1911s are sort of grouped together.

this poll i think will be a little less revealing because there are 1911s from RIA to Wilson, and even collectors editions worth a lot a lot of money.

its also less of a comparison than just a small demographic survey of owners. it would be unfair to compare a 1911 to a glock

Does Hi-Power count. My Father bought me my first Hi-Power when I was 7 years old after shooting rifles since I was 4. That was 1982. My income was $20 a week allowance, mostly spent on ammo or reloading supplies. Guess not too much has changed except the income now that I am 36.

This looks like a Glock poll I just took. Almost the same answers too.

              Who gives a ****.

This is a waste of bandwith and time.

The entire demographic thing is quite stupid. I know people young/old, broke/wealthy, who have and shoot both.

From a scientific standpoint, there are far too many variables that will come into play for this to produce any valid conclusions.

You'd be better of going to an actual range and seeing what people shoot.

The entire 1911 vs Glock crap is quite stupid when half of the people involved in such arguments don't even put enough rounds down range to have a valid opinion.

If you bother to type in 1911 vs. Glock into google, you will get thousands of results. They are all stupid. None of them ever reach a conclusion beyond someone's off base opinion on what they heard on the internet.

So why do we need another one?

Case in point: When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter. Master your weapon. Leave the internet rivalries for clowns online who don't even shoot anyway.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Then why even offer a poll.
Why are you trying to collect that information?
How will this information improve the quality of your life?

There are numerous ways to contribute to this wonderful forum we have. Polls typically add no real value.
I would have to agree with Jae on this. Lets try and rise above offering polls to our fellow members.
Just ask the question, and see who responds. Try and at least and make some form of a argument to why members should help you.

All the above just my very limited opinion.

                        It doesn't really matter -

We all end up getting both anyway.

This is just pissing in the wind....

                          Truth.

                          No basis whatsoever.

I purchased my first 1911, 6 years ago.
I was a poor college student, It was the first 1911 I ever shot and I was in love! had to scrap up money to get it.
It was a Stainless Springfield GI.

Sold it to pay for books and university tuition, it was fun while it lasted.
