    Holster For XD40 4"

    I found this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...HZ3CE70P1D969C I am looking for a holster that I can use at Frontsight next year for there 4 day gun class, should I get this or something else. I have never had a holster of any kind before so im asking you guys so I dont waste my $. thanks

    If you want a simple, inexpensive paddle/belt holster with a good presentation, get the Bladetech XD holster. The one SA makes for the XD is garbage. I picked up the Bladetech one at a local gunstore for less than 30 bucks.

    It's not got the kind of retention you'll want for every day carry, but for a class or two, it's an inexpensive way to get started before you descend into the world of expensive holsters in a drawer.

    If you want something higher end that will last a while, I can recommend the Silent Thunder holsters from Garrett leathers. http://garrettindustries.mybigcommer...nder-holsters/

    They are Kydex, with all the benefits of that, but they have a nice leather liner, with all the benefits of that. I'm quite taken with mine, although I've only had it a couple of months.
