    The Bullet That Started WW1

In June 1914 Arch-Duke Ferdinand was assassinated with a .32 ACP fired from a FN 1910 pistol. Some reports say it was a .380 ACP, but most say .32 ACP. The range was very short. Two shot were fired and both were fatal; both the Arch-Duke and his wife died, each with one wound.

For no particular reason I've been wondering what type of ammo those rounds were. Did they have JHPs in 1914? Or was everything ball? Does anyone know?

With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

Definitely off roster. Probably used those teflon-coated Talon cop-killer bullets that spun around inside the target and eviscerated everything, leading to spontaneous combustion, low sperm count, and bad credit.

The victims died from lack of first aid. Both bled out before they received medical attention.

That assassin was a damn ninja. Either that, or the Arch-Duke Ferdinand was facing a grassy knoll from the right side.

They were almost certainly ball, with the only other possibility being lead round nose.

The .32 was a very popular cartridge in Europe, and even the US, because like someone said the medical care was atrocious. Teddy Roosevelt picked the .32 S&W Long as the issue cartridge for the NYPD in the Colt Police Positive. He must have had an off day or a bad nights sleep, because if he was fully awake, they'd have all been carrying .405 Winchesters.
