    What is a GI type trigger gaurd and what does it look like?

    I thought 1911 trigger guards were all the same? Heres a pic of my Colt O1991 which i consider to be "GI"

      Looking for a holster?
      The other one would be the square trigger guard, and that needs more room, so will not fit a normal trigger guard.

        I believe this "GI style trigger guard" is just the standard round trigger guard.

        Did a quick google and one of the only times it's been mentioned is in the description of a Surefire adapter mount: "The MR07 attaches to any standard rail-less 1911-type pistol with GI-type trigger guard"

        The adapter does not fit square trigger guards.
