    HK 45

I called Heckler & Koch today and asked about the availability of the HK 45 in CA and they told me that the gun will not be submitted to the CA DOJ for approval because it does not have a magazine disconnect in its present form. It is a shame that the citizens of CA will be denied this fine pistol because some bureaucrat thinks he knows much more about guns than everyone else and he will save us from ourselves.

welcome to calguns and the pains of california legislature.

there's a lot of conflicting info about whether or not the HK45 will be approved for cali.

did you get a name of whom you spoke to?

The man that called me from H&K was Jeff Swisher. I'm not sure if the spelling is correct on his last name.

Inconsistent information? Who is saying that the HK45 IS going to be tested for CA. D.O.J.?

This is from a reply from HK Customer Service to me. I e-mailed them last week about this very issue.

"The HK45 is unable to be fitted with the required magazine disconnect at this time, and will not be available for sale in CA.
            HK Customer Service"

Agreed about people needing to call/e-mail HK about the HK45 in Ca. They need to know people here want it. If enough people ask, maybe they make the proper fixes so it can be available to us. Even if you are not interested in getting it, it would be really cool if people sent inquiries about it to help those of us that DO want it. Strength in numbers, right?

                You haven't been listening.

Microstamping can't kick in because the law has provisions to avoid this if technology is hampered by patents - which they are.

This is the same thing people used to say when the "safe" list was created years ago.

Sorry, California is too big of a market for gun makers to ignore. Even with the retarded gun laws. We spend a lot of money on pistols.

EXACTLY. So please help me spend money, and send HK an e-mail inquiring about the possibility of sending the HK45 to Ca.

HK has ignored the private gun owner forever...I don't think they're likely to change.
