    Springfield Loaded 1911 sights

Just DROS'd my first 1911, and im wondering about upgrading the sights. I read somewhere that this is a no can do, which is a bummer because i really hate the sights.

Bought it from Grants in Costa Mesa, and i was a little bummed because it was dirty and there seemed to be a few marks on the slide... I got it for $950 and i had a $450 store credit there so i was kinda locked in to buying it, if i had more options i would have gone with a parkerized one

There is no problem changing out the sights.... The Loaded uses the Novak cut.

It depends on the model. The Loaded models with adjustable sights are NOT Novak cut. They are LPA cut. Unfortunately the LPA aftermarket is very slim.

This is the right advice here. If yours has the LPA cut (adjustable sights) Harrison makes an atrocious standard sight, you can check em' out here http://shop.harrisoncustom.com/categ...e-lpa-cut.aspx

I have 10-8 U notch rear sight with Gold bead front on one of my Loadeds and the other has a Champion adjustable rear sight with Dawson fiber optic front. Both came with Novak cut.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

As for the marks, where are they? On the brushed metal? When I got mine it had some finish issues. Sent it to Springfield on their dime and they fix the blemishes, under warrenty.

They are on the top of the chamber where the opening in the slide is, this makes me feel alot better, i think ill just send it to Springfield and have them fix it

                    Congrats

Good thing its a springer I would hate to have to deal with some else warranty service...

if its just some scratches on the barrel hood its probably easier to buff them out than to send it anyway...

I have the loaded adjustable sight too on mine and I hate it, it's pretty hard to pick up in indoor environment. My friend got truglo TFO on his kimber and it's day and light. His target adjustable sights looks exactly like mine so I might just order some and see if I can make it fit. Those things are super bright.
                        The stuff that goes boom.

I just bought a loaded and LOVE it!!!! Beats the hell out of my Kimber. I have fixed sights except for when I went to clean it and the rear sight slid out. So much for POA/POI. I actually like the factory NS.

                            The Kimber sights slid out???
Not to start a fight, but please explaine why your Springer "beats the hell out of your Kimber" Only reason I question is because I have had the exact opposite experience.
