    Legal/Out of State LCP Question.

So my friend is in CA visiting his folks for the holidays. He came down from WA and he brought 2 1911's, as well as his new Ruger LCP. We're planning on heading out to Two Rock tomorrow. I know the LCP is off-limits to purchase here unless you're law enforcement. Is it legal for an out of state owner to bring an off-list handgun to shoot?

The LCP is not off limits to civilians either. Just have to avoid the roster and go SSE. Anyone can have one.

You will be fine using those pistols in California.

chim-chim7 is referring to SSE "Single Shot Exemption" as a way to BUY ONE new from a dealer in CA. Has NOTHING to do with someone bringing into CA. to use.

The CA DOJ approved list for handgun sales only applies to CA FFL dealers in what they can transfer to non-exempt persons.
