River lc9 the same as lcp?

    See title...is the 9 just a 9mm version of the 380?

    simple answer: NO

I can't stand the trigger on LC9. In addition, it has the manual safety, magazine disconnect safety, loaded chamber indicator and internal key lock.

Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.

LC9 has a thumb safety, and a magazine disconnect, while the LCP does not. The sights are a million times better on the LC9, since anything is better than nothing like the LCP. LC9 is also on the roster, while LCP is not. LC9 is 7+1 compared to LCP at 6+1.

If you're considering getting an LC9, also consider a Keltec PF-9. Similar gun but no safety BS and lighter weight vs the LC9. Only real problem is its off roster (though I found mine in the private sales forum here!)

The LCP is not on the roster? My father in law has one that he bought new here in Ca. Uses it as his concealed carry.

I was recently on the hunt for a 9mm CCW daily carry. LC9 was certainly on my short list. But the plethora of safeties (which I view as potential points of failure) took the LC9 off my list.

            Ended up with Kahr CW9.

I find the LC9 much to big to fit in my pocket. I also have the LCP that is pretty much the perfect size for a pocket, I carry it 99% of the time. But mine has reliability issues so I am getting the Kahr .380.

                So did I.

I narrowed it down to LC9 VS CW9 because of size. They're small but not super small, I don't like tiny guns. Went with the CW9 for the better trigger.

As far all the LC9's safeties go, the only one that bothers me is the magazine disconnect. Those that don't like thumb safeties, just leave it alone, don't use it?

Anywho, both guns are excellent choices.
