    Smith&Wesson SW40VE

Thinking about buying this gun. This would be a secondary pistol to store in the cabin, boat or car. The price point would be around $300 bucks, I know they r Glock clones and the trigger pull is a little long. Tell me what you guys think, any opinions on something similar, thanks.

If you want to spend less than a Glock or even an XD and it's going to be an extra gun, I see no issue in buying one. They are inexpensive and they shoot.

You can buy them in the used guns section for $250 and less ALL the time.. there's one over there right now.

At that price, and with no sales tax, they are worth it for a "inexpensive" truck gun or whatever.. I have one and while the trigger is heavy it still goes bang every time. And at the price I paid I don't care if it's lost/stolen/whatever.

BUT, if you are set on buying new then there are better guns to get in the $300 range and as said for $100 more you can get an XD or even a Sig 2022 which are far better guns.

In the sub $300 range a Sigma is hard to beat.. well, maybe one of the ugly yet reliable Ruger semi-autos

You can try this guy...he even has an extra mag and a rubber grip! http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=513196

Or take a look at the Ruger P95 or Taurus PT92, those two come up for sale every once in a while for the under $300 price, both very solid pistols.
